White Rock Lake also offers convenient biking and walking paths of almost 10 miles in total. As you head around the lake, you’ll see some genuinely breathtaking nature as well as some impressive wildlife (more on that in a moment). Hiking and biking are two of the best ways to enjoy nature, get some fresh air, and enjoy some exercise in the process!
We mentioned wildlife a moment ago, and the most abundant animals you’ll find here at White Rock Lake are birds. Bird watching is easily one of the most popular activities here. The Audubon Society has set up a unique bird-watching area where guests of all ages can come and gaze up into the trees or across the property. You’ll get to see beautiful bird species such as swans, seagulls, loons, pelicans, and more with any luck.
You’ll also want to check out the indoor facilities available at White Rock Lake. First, the White Rock Lake Museum holds all kinds of fascinating exhibits relating to the history and nature of the area. Parking
If you plan to visit White Rock Lake, you may be curious about the parking situation. There are a few different places where you can park, and since convenient lots surround the entirety of the lake, you can easily find a spot no matter which entrance you use. Directions
You’ll find the lake about five miles northeast of the downtown area, right near our most popular Lakewood rentals. There are many ways to get to White Rock Lake Park but from the North West side of the lake, take Mockingbird Ln., you’ll want to make your way to Williamson Road heading south and, after almost a mile, passing Alexander Dr, then Williamson Circle make a left onto West Lawther Drive. There is a Pavillion on a hill, to the left a playground, and to the right, there’s the old boat slip for you to explore. This is called T & P Hill or TP Hill for short; it’s a great place to explore or feed the ducks, especially on the wooden bridge.
